Hard work but such a delight !!!!
A feeric voyage in the heart of the Mt Blanc range, suroundred by mythical peeks like Les Grandes Jorasses, les Drus or les Aguilles de Chamonix.
The 22km ski decsent is probably one of the most beatifull gifts nature has made here.
Accompanied by a UIAGM mountainguide this can be done with serenity for 15 km on a glacier and the rest in the forest.
We start off takeing a good look at the weiw from the top of the aiguille du midi. From there we walk down the ridge before skiing on the glacier without prepared pists !!
Control and caution is compulsory as well as awe and amazement !
If your ski level allows you, this is THE experience to aim for when you are skiing in Chamonix.
Depending on the current snowconditions the ski level requirements are different so, always check with the mountainguides.
Basic technical ski requirements for the Valley Blanche : The skier needs to : master his speed: know how to slipslide: be able to turn even when not going fast.
Once again, do not hesitate asking the mountain guides for advice who are up to date on snowcondtions, of the moument and therefore the requirements needed that day.
- Skis, boots, poles
- Extra gloves, appropriate ski clothes( we start 3km up in the air)
- Gogles and/or sunglaces, sunscreen
- Back pack (a hint ; can you put the skis on your backpack ? makes the walk down the ridge at the top MUCH easier)
- Camera and/or gopro and most of all your smile !!
For obivous security reasons we only do the Vallée Blanche when the weather and the conditions allows us to. But we always propose a plan B, if we cannot do the Vallée Blanche.
